Virgin Media came out on top in a recent survey on mobile broadband products by independent consumer group Which? who tested each of the provider’s products to see if the much advertised plug and play aspect of mobile broadband set up really was as easy as that.
Providers were tested on usability, customer service, ease of set up, speed and connection, and how easy it was to cancel.
Virgin Media came out top overall, being ranked as the easiest to set up alongside O2, Orange and T-Mobile, and having the best user interface which gave customers the most accurate information on data use, and featured a user-friendly, jargon free help guide. Virgin Media also shared the top spot for customer service with O2.
“O2 was the most efficient, with all questions answered in a four-minute call. Virgin Mobile provided the best mobile broadband customer service, with comprehensive answers delivered in a friendly manner. Virgin Mobile also phoned back after getting stuck on a technical detail within five minutes.”
T-Mobile came out on top for fastest speeds with an average download speed of 1.8Mbps, but even then Virgin’s mobile broadband offering secured second place with average speeds of 1.1Mbps.
Virgin Media’s managing director of mobile Graeme Oxby said: “It’s fantastic that Virgin Media mobile broadband is achieving such acclaim. We always set out to deliver a mobile broadband product that would compliment our fibre optic and ADSL offerings, which meant ensuring our high standards of usability, simplicity and service were met.
“The independent endorsement of Which? In these categories is a testament to the quality and value that Virgin Media Mobile Broadband offers consumers.”
